Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor on WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston, about how the Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger instruction for the state's authorities. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year Award to the entire South Carolina media. O'Dell, after her stint in Charleston working as a journalist, was a co-anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station, before transferring to Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter on weekends. In addition, she serves as a co-anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's covered the events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards in addition to hosting the Pre ShowArrivals shows at The Emmys. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
